Research and Design of Lightweight Workflow Engine

Abstract

Workflow engine is the kernel of workflow management system.According to Workflow Management Coalition(WfMC) workflow reference model,analysed the main function of workflow engine,designed various functional modules,realized the basic function and feature with XML Process Definition Language(XPDL) and Java technology.The workflow engine does not rely on Web environment,can be used in Web information systems and desktop application areas.It can be easily embedded into applications for the process to realize the workflow system management function.
