Abstract
The bird surveys were carried out in May,June 2005 and from March to December 2006 in Baiyinkulun Nature Reserve of Inner Mongolia,China.The reserve is lying between 116°07′~116°20′ E,43°13′~43°17′ N,where 153 bird species were recorded totally,which belongs to 38 families and 17 orders.Among them, 22 species are residents,91 species are summer visitors and 40 species are migrants.27 species are national protected and 12 species were recorded in China red data book of endangered animals.Among the breeding birds,101 species are Palaearctic birds,which account for 89.4% of all breeders.The elements of Palaeoarctic realm play important roles in this avifauna,which is characterized by interpermeation between Mongo-xinjiang and Northeast region.
