Bird Resources and Diversity in Shahu Nature Reserve of Ningxia

According to the investigation from March to May in 2011,162 species of birds belonging to 17 families,33 orders,90 genera were recorded in Shanhu wetland Nature Reserve in Ningxia 4 species were first grade the national protected birds while 13 species were second grade national protected birds.Resident bird,winter and summer migrants were dominant species.The number of Anatidae,Ardeidae and Scolopacidae species were the most.Species of Palaeartic Realm were dominant.Some proposals for protecting the bird resource and diversity were offered.
