Variation of river regime of the Yellow River

Variation of river regime refers to the planar changing of the main course.The Yellow River is the most complicated one in river regime changing in the world. The author analyzed and reviewed the variations of river regime in wandering, transitional and meandering reaches in the Lower Yellow River for a time period of 50 years. The obtained conclusion may be used for providing a technical base for river training. The characteristics and basic types of variation of the river regime of the Lower Yellow River were pointed out.
