Abstract

William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying represents his experimenting on narrative form and structure. With the use of multiple first person narrators, Faulkner presents a chaotic world and modern people's loneliness and isolation for the lack of communication. This article deals with the renovate use of point of view in the novel and tries to probe the artistic effect of narrative point of view on the theme of the novel.
