Abstract

Online analytical processing is one of the major front-end analysis technologies based on data warehouse,and advances with the development of the database and the data warehouse side by side.The OLAP technology is designed specifically to support complex analysis operation.It is an important multi-dimensionaltool for analying based on the data warehouse.The basic concepts and its characteristic of OLAP technology are introduced.And multiple dimensions data structure,multi-dimensional analysis operation,data organizational form and applying architecture of OLAP technology are elaborated and studied.In the last part of the paper,the development tendency of OLAP technology is represented.
