Abstract

Objective To study the expressions of JAM-1, E-cadherin and β-catenin in stomach cancer tissue of rats to expore the mechanism of gastric carcinoma metastasis. Methods The stomach cancer model of rat was established and pathological staging was finished. The expressions of JAM-1, E-cadherin and β-cateninin in cancer tissue were carried out by immunohistochemistry staining and Western blot. Results The expression level of JAM-1 declined in advanced cancer than in early cancer, the areas densities of JAM-1 expression in cancer cells, blood vessels and lymphatic vessels reduced with the progress of cancer. The expression rate of E-cadherin and β-catenin in gastric gland(cancer) cells were decreased as the developing of gastric carcinoma, E-cadherin expressed in blood vessels of normal and cancer tissue, β-catenin expressed in lymphatic vessels but not blood vessels. Conclusion The decreased expression levels of JAM-1, Ecadherin and β-catenin as the developing of gastric carcinoma indicates that they may be involved in the lymphatic metastasis of gastric carcinoma.
