Abstract

Objective To analysis immuno-suppression of interfereon-gamma and interleukin-4 in mice with Salmonella typhimurium infection.Method 24 BALB/c mice were orally infected with S.Typhimurium by a single dose and divided into 2 groups, including experimental group with immunosuppressive agents(EG) and untreated group(UG),respectively. The spleen, liver and small intestine were pathologically detected with microscope. The interferon-γ(IFN-γ) and interleukin-4(IL-4) of splenocytes were measured with flow cytometry.Result The expression of IL-4 in EG was significantly higher than that in UG.The expression of IFN-γ in EG was significantly lower than that in UG.The pathological lesions in EG were serious compared with that in UG.Conclusion Immunosupperssion may induce excessively Th2 type immunological response to salmonella infection.
