Expression and Significance of NDR2 in Thyroid Pilliary Adenocarcinoma and Normal Thyroid Tissue

Abstract

Objectlve To explore the possible expression and function of NDR2 protein in human normal thyroid and papillary thyroid cancer. Methods Immunohistochemical ABC method and image analysis were used to investigate the expression and content of NDR2 in human normal thyroid and carcinoma biopsies. Results The positive cytoplasm immunostaining were observed in all normal thyroid follicular epithelia cells, but the nuclei were negative. The cytoplasm of papillary thyroid carcinoma cells were showed weaker immunoreactivity with the immuno-negative nuclei, and the positive rate was 23.3 % . There was significant difference of staining positive rates and intensity between normal thyroid and papillary thyroid carcinoma(P 0.05) . Conclusions There is significant difference of NDR2 between normal thyroid and papillary thyroid cancer. NDR2 may take part in the pathogenesis of papillary thyroid carcinoma. It is important to further study NDR2.
