Investigating the second prevent effect of atorvastatin on the silent cerebral infarction

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of atorvastatin on the silent cerebral infarction randomly in the period of three years.Methods 300patients with silent cerebral infarction were diagnosed by cerebral CT or MRI and divide into therapy group and contrast group randomly.The two groups were treated with the same method such as life-style remodeling,control blood pressure and blood glucose,except atorvastatin 10 mg qn in the treatment group.Results 5.3% and 14.7% of the silent cerebral infarction developed into the symptomatic cerebral infarction at the end of three years respectively(P0.05).Conclusions The study indicates that atorvastatin may play an effective role in the secondary prevention of the silent cerebral infarction.
