Abstract
Experiments showed that it was feasible to cultivate Lentinus edodes with kenaf stalk powder instead of sawdust. As it was undernourish at the later stage and the bags were easily untied, the production was low with short growing period. If 20% sawdust was added into the material, the nutritive composition could be adjusted so as to strengthen the bags with water preservation and with fast growing speed. The production and the rate of fruitbody development were high.
