Abstract

Objective To understand the health knowledge,health behavior and health needs of the residents of city and rural areas in Dalian,and to evaluate health education effects,in order to use health resource rationally for better carrying out health education.Methods A survey was conducted among 2200 residents from 11 districts selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling.Results The rates of health knowledge and health behavior were 58.5% and 52.8% among residents of city and rural areas.Health knowledge mainly came from mass media.The demand for health knowledge included common diseases prevention,food and nutrition hygiene,infectious disease prevention and healthy lifestyle in order.Conclusion The rate of health knowledge and health behavior should be further improved.Health education should be based on the health needs of the residents,and make full use of the mass media and guide the residents to come into being health behavior.
