Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of ultrasound-guided Mammotome minimally invasive system in breast surgery. Methods 461 breast masses from 262 patients were identified by clinical examination and ultrasonic imaging method.Excision or biopsy of the lesions were performed using 8G-Mammotome probe under ultrasonic guidance, and then all cases were followed up in 1-3 month. Results All lesions were excised under real-time ultrasound guidance, and the probability of success was 100%.The postoperative complication rate in recent was 5.73%.Most of the complications were ecchymoma, skin cyanosis and operation bleeding, and mass residue was found in two cases,no apparent scar was observed in all patients. Conclusions Mammotome system guided by ultrasound is position fixed accurately and minimally invasive to resect or biopsy breast mass, especially suitable for less than 3cm in size.
