The Effect of Metacognitive Knowledge and Metacognitive Strategies on L2 Writing

In order to explore the effect metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive strategies have on L2 writing,a large number of related papers have been studied and analyzed in this paper.Recently,various studies related the effect metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive strategies have on Listening,Speaking and Reading have already been carried out but in contrast,such studies related to L2 writing are less.Most of studies have been carried out by using experiments in class or questionnaires.And the results show that metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive strategies especially metacognitive strategies training have positive relationship with L2 writing quality.However,compared with studies abroad,most of studies at home based on shortterm experiments or questionnaire analysis,thus,most of them not so convincing.
