Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the protective effect of brucine against chronic gastritis and precancerous lesions of gastric cancer in rats.METHODS:The chronic gastritis and precancerous lesions of gastric cancer model in rats was induced by intragastric administration of 2% sodium salicylate added into 30% alcohol. The rats were divided into 4 groups,i.e.normal group(isovolumic NS),model group(isovolumic NS)and brucine high-dose and low-dose groups(4,1 mg · kg-1),and the pH value of diluted gastric acid was determined by acidimeter;the histopathological changes such as the inflammatory degrees in gastric mucosa, the morphology and structure of parietal cells were observed;the thickness of mucosa was measured by micrometer under optical microscope.RESULTS:Compared with model group, the secretion of gastric acid increased significantly in brucine groups(P 0.01 or P0.05),the thickness of gastric mucosa was significantly thicker than before(P0.05),the gastric mucosal inflammation were relieved. The pathological changes of parietal cells were improved significantly.CONCLUSION:Two doses of brucine(1 and 4 mg · kg-1)show a significant prevention and treatment effect on chronic gastritis and precancerous lesions of gastric cancer in rats.
