Evaluation on the Effect of Tuberculosis Control and prevention from 2003 to 2007 in Anqing City

Objective To evaluate the work efficiency of TB control and prevention in Anqing during 2003-2007.Methods To collect and analyze the quarterly reports on TB control project from every county and other relevant materials in 5 years.Results There were 48459 suspect cases in city in 5 years.The rate of visiting doctor was 1.6,72.44% of TB suspects received sputum smear examination,among which 36.37% were smear positive.21528 active TB cases were registered,among which 12768 new smear positive TB cases.The registered rate was 33.40/100000.34.77% positive TB cases were referred from hospital.The detection rate of new smear positive TB cases was over 70% from 2005.The cure rate of the initial treatment positive TB cases and re-treatment was 92.46% and 78.89% respectively.Conclusion The effect of the TB prevention and control was significant in Anqing.The standardized and scientific centralized management of TB was formed.The discovery rate of new smear-positive TB cases had increased greatly.The objective of high cure rate had been reached.The DOTS and administration mode of TB control were successful in Anqing.
