Abstract
Objective To evaluate the outcome of the TB control project loaned by the World Bank in Nanhai city.Methods The patients who consulted clinic for symptom were screened by the way of X-ray examination. TB patients were confirmed by sputum examination and treated using unified chemo-therapy regimen. And the management of DOTS were implemented.Results During the decade, 19?569 cases of TB suspected patient were screened, and the detected rate was 0.2%. There were 4?286 cases of active TB confirmed. Among them, 2?558 cases are sputum smear positive and account for 59.7% of the active TB. The notification rate of smear positive TB increased from 14.07/100,000 to 35.66/100,000. The ratio of initial treatment cases with smear positive and re-treatment is 1 to 0.14. The cured rate of the initial treatment cases is 94.3% and the re-treatment cases is 82.2%. The benefit of case-finding and treatment management reached 3 times than before.Conclusion In the past 10 years, the level for TB control has been raised completely.
