An Analysis of Cancer Mortality from 1970 to 2007 in Zhongshan City,Guangdong Province

[Purpose] To investigate the epidemiology of cancer mortality in Zhongshan in 1970~2007,and to provide scientific information for cancer prevention and control in Zhongshan.[Methods] The data of cancer death in Zhongshan in 1970~2007 were collected.The numbers of death cases,crude mortality rate,China and world standardized mortality rate,proportion and ranks were analyzed.[Results] The cancer world-standardized mortality rate was 91.45/105 in 1970~2007 in Zhongshan.The mortalities of lung cancer,liver cancer,esophagus cancer,larynx cancer in male,and lung cancer,colon cancer and uterus corpus cancer in female were increased markedly.[Conclusions] The cancer mortality rates in 1970~2007 show an obviously increasing trends in Zhongshan.It suggests that cancer prevention and control should be enhanced in Zhongshan.
