Abstract
As two fundamental cultures of human beings, science and humanity have their unique functions——science seeking for truth and humanity for kindness and beauty. They are destined to be interdependent and play totally different roles,i.e.,science provides proof for humanity while humanity stipulates goals for science. The so-called fusion theory concerning the relationship between science and humanity, which are popular in the academic circle for a long time,is quite insensible since it dissolves the more important roles of humanity than science and therefore, wipes off the more important roles of humanity.
