No.5 Caster performance of the Steel Mill of Laiwu Iron Steel Co.was poor and capacity was low,especially it could not meet the needs of production of high-quality steel.The Steel Mill conducted adaptability optimization reconstruction on the follow-ing: caster's capping device of big ladle,stopper control of medium ladle,cooling system of secondary cooling stage and side orientation system of secondary cooling stage.The caster performance was improved entirety and the caster met the needs of production of high-quality steel.Optimum economic benefits were achieved.
