Abstract

A postcocious line of E.necatrix was selected by repeated passages of oocysts that were lately collected from faeces of previously infected chickens.Compared with the parental strain, the postcocious line had the following characteristics:the peak production of oocysts was two days later;the prepatent period was not prolonged, but the dimension of several endogenous development stages was larger than that of the corresponding stages of the parental strain;the pathogenicity was similar in comparison with the parental strain;the reproductive capacity and the immunogenicity was higher than that of the parental strain respectively.
