Abstract

A strain of E.necatrix was isolated from suspensions of oocysts by the use of the single oocyst isolation technique.A postcocious line of the strain was selected by repeated passages of oocysts that were lately collected from faeces of previously infected chickens.Compared with the parental strain, the postcocious line had the following characteristics:the peak production of oocysts was two days later;the prepatent period was not prolonged, but the dimension of eleven endogenous development stages was larger than that of the corresponding stages of the parental strain.
