Effect of Shenmai Injection combined with somatostatin on serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10 in patients with acute pancreatitis

Objective To investigate and analyze the effects of Shenmai Injection combined with somatostatin on serum levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6) and interleukin-10(IL-10) in patients with acute pancreatitis. Methods 90 cases of patients with severe acute pancreatitis treated in the People's Hospital of Quzhou City from January 2011 to September 2013 were randomly divided into two groups. 45 patients in the control group were treated with western medicine. 45 patients in the observation group were added with Shenmai Injection and somatostatin treatment on basis of control group. The time of serum amylase and white blood cells to normal range, time of abdominal pain symptom improvement and days of hospitalization were observed. Results The total efficiency of the observation group was 95.6%, which was higher than 80.0% of control group, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05). The time of serum amylase and white blood cells to normal range, time of abdominal pain symptom improvement and days of hospitalization in observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P 0.01). After treatment, the serum TNF-α, IL-6 level of the observation group were(168.66±24.64),(15.45±5.36) ng/L, which were lower than those of the control group [(206.32±20.49),(21.28±7.31) ng/L], the differences were ystatistically significant(P 0.01). After treatment, the serum level of IL-10 in the observation group was(99.54 ±16.11) ng/L, which was higher than that of the control group [(69.42±15.57) ng/L], the difference was statistically significant(P 0.01). Conclusion Shenmai Injection combined with somatostatin in treatment of severe acute pancreatitis has good curative effect, which can significantly improve the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10.
