Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of ganglioside treatment of patients with acute stroke, and study the influence on tumor necrosis factor-α( TNF-α) and interleukin-6( IL-6) level. Methods A total of198 patients with acute cerebral stroke admitted to Kunshan First People' s Hospital from Jan. 2011 to Jun.2013 were divided into two groups according to random-number table method,90 cases with conventional treatment were in the control group,108 cases of the observation group treated with ganglioside based on the control group. Evaluation indexes were treatment effect, the Barthel index( BI),movement function( FM)score, limb function defect degree of the neurological deficits( NIHSS) score, and serum TNF-α and IL-6levels before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 73. 15%( 79 /108),higher than that of the control group 62. 23%( 56 /90)( P 0. 05). BI and FM scores of the observation group were( 59. 74 ± 0. 59) and( 77. 83 ± 1. 14),control group were( 56. 10 ± 0. 62) and( 72. 25 ±1. 08); NIHSS of the observation group was( 16. 19 ± 0. 22),lower than that of the control group( 19. 66 ±0. 38)( P 0. 01). TNF-α and IL-6 concentrations of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before therapy( P 0. 01); TNF-α and IL-6 concentrations of the observation group after treatment were lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 01). Conclusion Ganglioside treatment for the acute cerebral infarction has significant effect, which can reduce the concentration of TNF-αand IL-6 and promote the function recovery of the patients.
