Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the value of dynamic contrast-enhanced MR portography(DCE MRP) in the diagnosis of portal hypertension.Methods:15 volunteers and 23 portal hypertensive patients were performed with dynamic contrast-enhanced MR portography.The appearances of portal hypertension in 23 cases were observed on DCE-MRP.Results:Portal vein were well demonstrated on DCE MRP in all 15 volunteers.DCE MRP findings in patients with portal hypertension were as follows:enlarged portal vein(n=21),tortuous and dilated splenic vein(n=23),decreased sub-branching of portal vein(n=18),delayed opacification of portal vein(n=7),demonstration of portosystemic collaterals(n=6),portal thrombosis(n=3).Conclusion:DCE MRP is a rapid and noninvasive technique for assessment of portal venous system.It can demonstrate the pathologic changes of portal venous system in portal hypertension exactly.
