Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of phosphorylated-AKT(p-AKT)and NF-κB in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The expressions of p-AKT and nuclear factor(NF)-κB were detected by immunohistochemistry in 52 NSCLC cases and 18 normal lung tissues. Results The positive rates of p-AKT and NF-κB in NSCLC were 53.8% and 67.3%,respectively,which were higher than 0.0% and 16.7% in normal lung tissue(P0.05).The expression of p-AKT was not related to age, sex, smoking, histological subtype, grade of cell differentiation, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage((P0.05).The expression of NF-κB was related to lymph node metastasis and TNM stage(P0.05).There was positive correlation between p-AKT and NF-κB(P0.05).Conclusion p-AKT and NF-κB are highly expressed in NSCLC.The p-AKT/NF-κB signaling pathway may participate in carcinogenesis and development of NSCLC.
