Abstract

The cucumber seedlings were treated with 5 mmol·L-1 glycine betaine(GB) for 24 h using rooting application. The results showed that exogenous GB could delay the decrease of chlorophyll content and higher net photosynthetic rate and antioxidative enzyme activities under cold stress [(6±1)℃] for 5 d. The MDA accumulation and the relative permeability of membrane reduced, the survival percentage of cucumber seedlings was higher after cold stress.
