Effects of betaine on cold resistance of banana seedlings

Abstract

The effect of betaine on cold resistance of banana(Musa paradisiacal L.)seedlings was studied.The results showed that exogenous betaine could enhance the content of Proline,reduce the accumulation of O2·-,improve the activities of SOD,POD,ASP in banana seedlings and consequently improve its cold resistance.The effect of 10.0 mmol/L concentration was the best.
