Abstract
Objective:To investigate the early activafion of T lymphocytes in patients with aplastic anemia(AA).Methods: Expressions of CD4,CD8 T lymphocytes and CD69 in these lymphocytes before and after culture with PHA in vitro were analyzed by two-color flow cytometry in 34 patients with aplastic anemia. Results: There was significantly lower expression of CD4+/CD8+ in aplastic anemia than normal controls.CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes partly expressed CD69 in severe AA patients, and only CD8+ cells expressed CD69 in chronic AA.After PHA stimulation in vitro, expression rates of CD69 in CD4+ and CD8+ cells increased quickly in AA patients and controls, but significantly higher in AA patients than that in controls. Conclusion: In AA patients there are abnormalities not only in quantity of T cell subsets, but also in function of T cells early activation, which might be associated with the pathogenesis of AA.
