Abstract

Objective To evaluate the immune effect of hepatitis B vaccine in preschool children, and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of hepatitis B virus infection. Methods Serum HBsAg, HBsAb, HBeAg, HBeAb and HBc Ab of 1432 children, whose age is 3 to 6 years old, were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method, and the results were analyzed. Results The positive rates of HBsAg and HBsAb were 0.91% and 65.71%, respectively. There was no significant gender difference in positive rate of HBsAg and HBsAb. Conclusions After free hepatitis B vaccination programs in newborns, hepatitis B virus infection rate of the children in Nanchang city is low, however, there are still some children fail to produce effective protective antibodies. How to improve the positive rate of HBsAb in children, so as to effectively control and reduce the spread of HBV infection in children, is an important task for medical workers.
