Geo- spatial data management based on metadata

At the present time,there exists a mass of unused geo-spatial data during petroleum exploration and production.Firstly,this problem is analyzed,and a method to manage geo-spatial datum effectively based on metadata is presented.Then,through analyzing the existent metadata and management and using other metadata management model for reference,a three-ply geo-spatial metadata model,manage information are put forward through base metadata,attribute metadata and entity metadata,and the model is introduced.At last,the project of seism data management system and the construction of metadata based on this model are given.
