Abstract
[Objective]To evaluate the effect of phacoemulsification and trabeculectomy in treatment of cataract and glaucoma.[Methods]Phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy was adopted for treatment of 42cases (45eyes) with cataract and glaucoma. Postoperative follow up was recorded for 6 months.[Results]The best corrected visual acuity significantly improved after surgery; the intraocular pressure decreased obviously ( (13.5±3.2)mm Hg )3 months after surgery; the angles examined by genies copy were wider after surgery, angle closed, the adhesion between iris and trabecula reduced.[Conclusion]Phacoemulsification with trabeculectomy can substantially reduce intraocular pressure and improve visual acuity and can be 1 of the safe and effective treatments of cataract and glaucoma.
