New Challenges of English Teacher Proposed by Communicative Language

The communicative and emotional function of language objectively require that language teaching break through the traditional concept of language teaching. In a real sense, language teaching aims at training and cultivating students' practical use of language, enriching students' emotion, strengthening students' cross-cultural awareness and improving students' humane quality and the ability of thinking and practical solutions to the problems in the classroom. This paper focuses on the role of communicative language teaching in the process of upgrading English teachers' professional skills based on three aspects including the basic concept of communicative language teaching, the application of communicative language teaching and new challenges proposed by communicative language teaching in English classroom.
