Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship of learning and mermory ability to free amino acid (Asp,Glu, Ala, Gly, Tau, GABA) content in five brain regions (cortex, cerebellum, hippocampus, striatum, hypothalamus) of wistar rats . Method The learning and memory ability of rats was determined in Model MG-2 maze, the wistar rats were divided into two groups ( group Ⅰ is higher , group Ⅱ is lower) according to learning and memory ability. The content of Asp , Glu , Ala , Gly , Tau, GABA in five brain regions was determined after rats were killed immediately. Results Comparing group Ⅱ with group Ⅰ , the content of Asp in hippocampus and striatum was lower significantly ( P 0. 05 ) ; the content of Glu in cortex ,hippocampus, and striatum was lower signifi-catively ( P 0.05) ;the content of Gly in cortex and striatum was lower significatively ( P 0. 05) ;the content of Tau in cortex, cerebellum ,hippocampus and striatum was lower significatively ( P 0. 05 orP 0. 01) ;howev-er,The content of GABA in striatum was higher ( P 0. 05). Conclusion The level of amino acids in hippocampus, cortex , striatum, hypothalamus were closely related with learning and memory ability.
