The Clinical Observation of the Cold-dampness Type Prolapse of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc who Treated with the Modified Monkshood Decoction and Duhuo Jisheng Decoction

Objective:To study the treatment of the cold-dampness type prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc with the modified monkshood Decoction and Duhuo Jisheng Decoction.Methods:70 patients with the prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc who collected from the outpatients were enrolled in this randomized controlled trial,each group with 35 patients.On the basis of fundamental treatment,the control group received oral meloxicam tablet,while the treatment group received meloxicam and Chinese medicine.The treatment course is 2 weeks and the JOA score was used to evaluate the therapeutic effect.All patients were followed up two months.Results:Patients of both groups were significantly alleviated(P0.05,with statistical significance) and the treatment group achieved better clinical outcomes(comparison of treatment score:P=0.05;comparison of improvement index:P=0.05;comparison of improvement rate: P 0.05,with statistical significance).Conclusion:The modified monkshood Decoction and Duhuo Jisheng Decoction can effectively relieve the symptoms caused by the prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc and improve the quality of life.However,the long-term efficacy needs further follow-up.
