Abstract
In this paper,silicone-modified vinyl acetate-acrylate copolymer emulsion was synthesized with butyl acrylate and vinyl acetate as monomer pair via semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization. The effects of some parameters,such as amount of silicone,ratio of emulsifiers,and amount of seed monomer,on emulsion polymerization and emulsion properties were studied. The obtained emulsion has good stability and the latex particle size reduced with increasing amount of seed monomer.
