Abstract

The comparative test was conducted to study effects of foliage spraying Mo on leaf size, physical characteristics, economic character and common chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco and explore effects of molybdenum on yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco by foliage spray. The results showed that foliage spraying Mo could improve Mo content in tobacco leaves and influence the content of total sugar, reducing sugar, nicotine and Cl in upper leaves significantly, the mean Mo content in upper leaves and middle leaves went up to 0.89mg/kg from 0.61mg/kg and 0.85mg/kg from 0.47mg/kg respectively, the reducing sugar content in upper leaves increased by 2.95% in mean, the nicotine content in upper leaves reduced by 0.5% meanly. Therefore, foliage spraying Mo fertilizer can promote leaf growth, increase tobacco yield and high-rank tobacco ratio, improve color and oil content of tobacco leaves, reduce grey or dark brown spots of upper tobacco leaves and improve chemical composition harmony of upper tobacco leaves.
