Effects of flue-cured tobacco intercropping with sweet clover on nutrient,yield and quality of tobacco

Field experiment were conducted to study the effects of flue-cured tobacco intercropped with sweet clover on the nutrient,yield and quality of tobacco.The results were as follows:Compared with monocropping,intercropping made the leaves nitrogen contents of tobacco leaves,cutters and lugs decreased,and phosphorus contents of tobacco leaves and cutters decreased too,potassium contents of tobacco leaves and lugs increased.However,N,P and K contents change of tobacco leaf were not notable.The yield of tobacco leaf was not notable.In compansion with monocropping,intercropping enhanced percentage of mid-high grade leaves of flue-cured tobacco and decreased lower grade tobacco leaf.The product value and economic income of tobacco leaves were increased.The contents of total sugar,reductive sugar and sugar/nicotine ratio were increased by 5.38%,5.30% and 1.80% respectively under intercropping.However,total nitrogen and nicotine content were decreased by 0.11%,0.86% respectively.Intercropping could balance chemical compositions in tobacco and improve quality of tobacco leaf,and increase internal quality to a certain extent.
