Abstract
Reference path planning is an essential way to enhance the survivability and kill probability of cruise missile. The digital map here used was generated by program. A method based on GA and using improved coding method was presented for cruise missile reference path planning when the obstacles on the model digital map were all known. The path population which was a group of paths was generated randomly. The program used fitness function which contained the effects of all obstacles to evaluate paths in path population, after development by the GA, a path was finally obtained which can be used as the reference path of cruise missile. The emulation result of the algorithms indicated that the reference path obtained finally can follow terrain, avoid terrain and threat. Because of the limit of the controlling parameters, the reference path obtained finally was suboptimal. The main factors to improve the performance of the algorithms are the path population and controlling parameters of GA.
