Abstract

To observe the efficacy of intrapleural instillation with OK-432and hydroxycamptothecin(HCPT)for patients with malignant pleural effusion.Sixty-two patients with malignant pleural effusion were treated. The PICC tube was inserted into the pleural cavity by pleurocentesis and drained continuously.Intraplerual therapy were given for the patients with OK-4325KE on day1,HCPT30mg on day2,twice a week. The overall response rate(CR+PR)of intrapleural therapy with OK-432and HCPT in malignant pleural effusion was88.7%.The major side effect was bone marrow suppression and fever.[Conclusions]For patients with malignant pleural effusion, intrapleural therapy with OK-432and HCPT has showed a better clinical short-term effect. The toxicity is tolerant.
