Abstract

Objective: To explore the clinical curative effect of acupuncture and cupping combined with Qufengtongluo decoction in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis. Methods: 158 Cases of peripheral facial paralysis were randomly divided into treatment group(51 cases), control group A(53 cases) and control group B(54 cases). The treatment group were treated with acupuncture and cupping combined with Qufengtongluo decoction, the control group A with acupuncture and cupping therapy, and the control group B with oral prednisone, ribavirin, and methycobal. Results: The cure rate of the treatment group was 81.3%, which was higher than that of the control group A(71.7%) and the control group B(57.4%); the total effective rate of the treatment group reached 98%, which was higher than that of the control group A(86.8%) and the control group B(70.4%). Conclusion: Acupuncture and cupping combined with Qufengtongluo decoction in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis has better curative effect than the other two methods as it features shorter treatment course, quicker healing effect and higher cure rates.
