The clinical application of sixteen-slice spiral CT angiography of coronary artery in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease

Objective To evaluate the value of sixteen-slice spiral CT angiography of coronary artery in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease. Methods Sixteen-slice spiral CT angiography was performed in 40 patients.The patency of coronary artery and other branches was examined, the distribution and extent of coronary stenosis were assessed. The findings demonstrated on sixteen-slice spiral CT angiography were compared with those seen on selective coronary angiography. Results Among the 88 coronary arteries, in the evaluation of the coronary arteries by sixteen-slice spiral CT angiography, the sensitivity of the detection of coronary artery was 86.80%,the specificity was 86.20%,the positive predictive and negative predictive value was 76.47%,92.59%,respectively. The evaluation of the significant coronary arteries stenosis, the sensitivity, specificity ,the positive predictive value and negative predictive value was 90.0%,70.0%,60.0%,93.3%,respectively. Conclusion Sixteen-slice spiral CT angiography is a reliable diagnostic method of coronary heart disease .It is valuable in demonstrating coronary lumen stenosis. It should be used as a reliable exam of coronary heart disease in clinical practice.
