Abstract
By using the methods of literature consultation, questionnaire investigation, the Delphi method and mathematical statistics and taking eight institutions of higher learning in Zhejing province as the objects of the study the teaching plan in physical education specialties and the teaching program of the gymnastics required course in those 8 colleges and universities were analyzed comprehensively. On this basis it was put forward that at present the teaching contents of the gymnastics required course in institutions of higher learning should be a new system with the basic gymnastics, competitive gymnastics, aerobic dance and rhythmic gymnastics as a whole. And the rationality of the arrangement of the order of those contents was discussed as well.
