Abstract
Objective To explore the rehabilitation effect of psychological intervention on patients with poststroke depression( PSD). Methods A total of 80 inpatients with acute PSD during September 2012 and August 2013 were randomly divided into observation group( n = 40) and control group( n = 40). The control group received the drug therapy only, while the observation group received drug treatment combined with psychological intervention. The curative effects of the two groups were evaluated using Hamilton depression scale( HAMD),Barthel indexes of activities of daily living( ADL),and stroke neurological disability scale( NDS). Results The differences in HAMD score,ADL indexes and NDS score in the two groups before treatment were not statistically significant( P 0. 05); the levels of HAMD score,ADL indexes and NDS score 6 weeks after treatment in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group( P 0. 01,P 0. 05). Conclusion The medication combined with effective psychological intervention for patients with PSD can improve the patient's mental condition and quality of life.
