The Development of Imperial Civil Examination of Tang Dynasty

Imperial civil examination,drafted in 2nd year of Sui Yang Emperor,was not regarded as a stable policy for running the country well until Tang Taizong Emperor.With the joint efforts of several generation,it reached its peak of development in Tang Xuanzong Emperor.In 24th Year of Tang Kaiyuan,imperial civil examination was in the process of revolution,then,it has gradually degenerated in to a honorary scholarship system,which leads to the gradual disappearance of its promoting function for society's prosperity.Therefore,imperial civil examination has experienced three major developing stages,and in each stage,it is divided into a few minor developing steps.By sorting out the line of its development,we can understand this cultural legacy more correctly.
