The Ideal personality and Its Contradictions of Cheng-zhu Neo-Confucius

Abstract

Cheng - zhu takes the Confucius, sage and gentleman as the ideal perdonality respectively, while constructing theirs. Constructively speaking, the three are combined into one; levelly speaking, the three are quite different int the practical subjects. Cheng-zhu's ideal personality,in the course of shape and realizatioh because of no coherent co nnection with practice, has the contradictions between ideal personality and realistic personality, between ideal personality and individual personality and between the ideal personality and human desires.
