Abstract
According to the statistical data from 1997 to 2006,the trend and law of arable land change,especially for the temporal and the spatial difference,were analyzed.As a result of the factor analysis and multiple linear regression,the main driving force of arable land change were discussed.The results showed that the spatial-temporal features of arable land change in Wuhan were notable,and the arable land decreased year by year.The population growth,economic development and progress of science and technology in agriculture were the three factors which affected the arable land change in Wuhan city.The analytical conclusions would help people make good use of arable land resources and provide scientific basic for sustainable agriculture development in Wuhan city.
