It was around the thirties of twentieth century that historical theories of the West and Japan were introduced into China,following the Western disciplinary patterns, Chinese intellectual circles began to restructure every discipline.But at that time,the Chinese nation was faced with a very serious national crisis,the discipline of Chinese eth- nic history was only to make its start,various points of view were at play in the field of ethnic history.Mr.Lu Simian,analyzed and categorized Chinese ethnic history from vari- ous angles,and on the base of it,constructed his own fresh framework on the discipline of Chinese ethnic history.
