Abstract
Objective To search for an effective acupuncture-moxibustion therapy for influenza of gastrointestinal type. Methods One hundred cases of influenza of gastrointestinal type were randomly divided into a treatment group treated by shallow needling plus cupping (n=50) and a control group treated with Chinese and Western medi-cine (n=50). They were treated for 3 days. Results The total effective rate and the markedly effective rate were 100.0% and 70.0% in the treatment group, and 90.0% and 20.0% in the control group, respectively, with a significant difference between the two groups (P0.01). Conclusion Shallow needling plus cupping has a definite therapeutic effect on influenza of gastrointestinal type.
