Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of large doses of Mucosolvan on elderly patients with cerebral vascular disease and repeated hospital-acquired pneumonia. Methods 40 elderly patients with cerebrovascular disease combined with recurrent hospital-acquired pneumonia were randomly divided into the control group(n = 16) and treatment group(n = 24).Patients in the control group were treated with conventional Mucosolvan [2 mg/(kg·d),intravenous drip];patients in treatment group were treated with 990 mg Mucosolvan(intravenous drip) for 7 days. The safety and efficacy, sputum viscosity, chest radiograph of the two groups were compared. Results Obvious adverse reactions were not found in the treatment group with large doses of Mucosolvan, the ratio of the sputum viscosity grade I of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05),the sputum volume of the treatment group is less than that of the control group [(17.7±3.4)mL vs(36.1±7.4)mL],the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05),the ratio of infection on X chest ray in treatment group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusion The large-dose Mucosolvan can improve the sputum viscosity, expectoration and infection control in elderly patients with cerebral vascular disease with pneumonia.
